Today we explore those timeless classics that started the whole genre and remain as fresh and relevant now as on the first day they were published. They’ve entered our collective psyche and have passed the test of time to spawn all the other stories that followed them. So dive into the books that invented the zombie, vampire and horror genres. I’ve tried to identify those pivotal novels that truly reflect the beginning of a new approach to writing – I hope you find something you enjoy.
